Dinner Key Marina – a great setting for outdoor portraits
Planning outdoor photos can be totally unpredictable, having to rely on the weather to cooperate. Even more so when you’re trying to get good Business Headshots. On this blustery Wednesday, we headed to the Dinner Key Marina in Coconut Grove and thank God the rain stayed away!
Our clients were the FishVerify Team. Soon to be released will be an app that when you take a photo of the fish you just caught with your phone, it will tell you the name and critical information like size limits and seasons. Everyone showed up with the right attitude and wanted fun, outdoor shots, with sailboats, yachts and Biscayne Bay in the background.
First we photographed the three partners, Jason, Chuck and Andy, who like many guys, were somewhat uncomfortable in front of the camera but that discomfort did not last long. Then with Andy’s wife, the beautiful Maria, we had to factor in her windblown hair. We kept telling her how model shoots often use fans to get that effect, so I positioned her with the sun in the background and let the breeze blow her hair back. Later adding Nicole to group we were able to get some relaxed, natural group shots, taking advantage of a beautiful sunset. Everyone had a blast!
