Hi, I am Doug Stevens, co-owner (with my wife, Ada Stevens) of SnapHappy Photos. Although I have a passion for all of the photography we provide, my greatest passion is Architectural Photography, both exteriors and interiors.
I have 32 years of experience as a project manager, calling on all contractor types, primarily concrete for high rise, bridge and other major projects, supplying forming, shoring and accessories, before permanently joining my wife in early 2012. I have my OSHA 30 hour training and know my way around jobsites and projects.
As with all photography, lighting is the most important element when taking Architectural Photos. I typically use an HDR technique which is taking 5 photos, all at different exposures. The software stacks all of the photos, detects dark areas and borrows information from the lighter exposures and visa versa. This renders a photo more like the human eye sees and is richer in midtones than a single shot can render.
Remember that a high quality photo is viewed 60% longer and a low quality photo may give the wrong impression of the subject.
